Hi Friends!

We know that the words “Trauma-Informed Yoga” can seem pretty heavy. The thought of talking about trauma might make some of us uncomfortable, anxious, or confused. Others of us may think that we don’t even HAVE trauma or that our trauma isn’t “bad enough” to ACTUALLY be trauma. Whatever feelings come up when you think about trauma are perfectly OKAY. Your feelings are valid and welcome, just as they are. So are you. You are also welcome, just as you are. All thoughts, feelings, emotions, and lack thereof are welcome with us and on our retreats. The truth of the matter is most of us have experienced trauma in one way or another, and our minds and bodies are affected by it - whether we realize it or not. That’s why we created Atma Prema Journey (Sanskrit for Self-Love Journey). We want our special and beautiful LGBTQ+ Community to have access to a safe place to connect while traversing their own Self-Love Journey and learning tools for self-exploration, self-discovery, healing, acceptance, and strength - all through the transformational power of Trauma-Informed Yoga.

About Us

Atma Prema Journey was founded by wife and wife team, Rain and Sydnee Larken.

Rain is an International 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher (with over 1,000 hours of yoga training!) She infuses her teachings with fierce love, kindness, and curiosity. Rain believes that healing takes place through honesty, vulnerability, acceptance, and connecting to one's Self. She loves holding space for each of her students to be exactly who they are, in every single moment.

Sydnee is currently expanding her own world of Yoga and self exploration. She has a special love for meditation and a hunger for knowledge of the world of Yoga. Sydnee shows her love through the art of Plant Based Cooking and enjoys creating nutritious, exquisitely tasting, and beautiful meals for others (you can experience this on our retreats!)

Rain and Sydnee are full time travelers, nature enthusiasts, animal lovers, and knowledge cravers. They also love sharing ALL parts of Yoga (not just the movement!) They created Atma Prema Journey to serve the LGBTQ+ Community with Trauma-Informed Yoga Retreats. Rain and Sydnee have experienced first hand the life changing benefits of Trauma-Informed Yoga and knew that their community needed this Yoga, in an immersive, retreat experience. They both hold an unwavering belief that Trauma-Informed Yoga can not only heal and bring power to their community, but can also open a world of possibilities and transformation to each person that is willing to embrace it.

Come join them in your own Self Love Journey!
